Staffordshire Freemasonry – Simply Supporting Society
For Freemasons, for families, for everyone....
Kindness has always been a core principle of Freemasonry. Individuals give time and money to help others, whether locally, nationally or globally. You will find Freemasons volunteering on a local community project, making donations to other UK charities or responding to an international disaster appeal.
Whilst this support is outside of our own Lodge, we also ensure our own Members and their families are at the forefront of our minds when considering our Charity
Freemasonry is one of the UK’s top charities raising more
than £48 million a year (together with over 5 million hours of voluntary work undertaken!)
Perhaps Freemasons do not shout about the Charitable giving loudly enough however, from each small collection made at each of our Lodge Meetings, we ensure local Charities and Masonic Charities are the beneficiaries of our giving. One very important Charity supported by Freemasonry is the Air Ambulance.
The Masonic Charitable Foundation administers millions of pounds every year. This money is raised throughout the UK by Freemasons when we have a Lodge Meeting. These small amounts collectively add up to a larger sum and benefit many local and national Charities. In Staffordshire alone over £1m a year comes back to support local Charities, medical research, and good causes including the Shropshire, Staffordshire & Cheshire Blood Bikes charity.
Below are some examples of local charities and good causes supported through donations by the members of Lodges, including NSRTL
